After The Affair
The next day after the event with Jane, Theresa told her that she was no longer welcome at the dojo. Theresa decided to go to the dojo after working at the hospital to be the program director with her daughter that two and a half years old.
Mat took her to St. Barnabas Hospital in the vending van; she gave birth to her son Jaden. One thing about her son was the fact that she felt his head when she was giving birth to him, unlike Vanessa she didn’t feel a thing. He told her that she wasn’t going back to work at the hospital.
Mat was great with Karate and he liked to impact all children and helps the adults to get in shape and work on their personal development. He would spend most of his time at the dojo because he was building the business. He was a sensei and since he had to teach all the classes, he started to lose so much weight that he needs to train others to help build the business. They had one parent at the dojo that taught step cardio at the gym and would like to teach at the dojo also. They also had two students that love martial arts and had attendance that was invited to join the leadership team that they started. The criteria to join the team were first you had to be a member of the black belt commitment program and they were. Mat, Theresa, and the team grew the school so big that the location was too small for the school, next door was a pizzeria restaurant that was moving to another location. He planned on breaking the wall and makes it one big dojo but it would off cost so much. With all the changes that were happening they were getting further apart and he forgot Theresa’s birthday and things were getting worse. She felt that he was taking her for granted and the business was more important. She left for Florida over her mother’s house with the younger children, she didn’t have custody of the oldest children therefore she couldn’t take them. She celebrated her daughter‘s birthday there and took them to JcPenney for their picture. After one month he started to call her to come back, at first she didn’t answer the calls then after a few, she answers. During these times she spent in Florida, she prayed and read the bible and other books. She understood about a woman and the strengths that God gave us. She understood her role and she learned to stand up for herself, she also put a plan together for the business to go to the next level by showing how moving to another location is better than getter the one next door. She had the number ready showing how it was going to benefit the business to go from paying seven hundred and fifty dollars rent to two thousand and fifty dollars with more than triple space. When she got back she sat with him and they decided to go for it. He hired the best contractor to fix the school and get the best sign that was expensive but it was worth it. The lease was almost three times as much as the first one, they grew the leadership team and their relationship wasn’t getting better. They would crash with each other because they were both strong, they would have intense fellowship and so many different people were coming into their lives.
When Theresa got back from Florida, she made friend with one of the parents that had a lot of experiences with relationships because she had been married for a long time. They would go over Dean and Kathy’s house every Friday night to watch movies and have tea with popcorn. Kathy’s family knew how to throw a great party, their children and their nieces were in the dojo summer program and their families would go to the beach together.
